Wade H. McCree, Jr. Incentive Scholarship ProgramTwenty-five students entering ninth grade are invited each year to participate in the Wade McCree program. Throughout high school, the students are involved in special activities on the campus of Oakland University to introduce them to college life and expectations. Students who graduate with a 3.0 grade point average in academic subjects and attain at least a 21 composite score on the ACT college entrance test are then awarded a scholarship to Oakland University. These scholarships, valued at $4,000-$5,000 per student annually for up to four years, cover tuition and fees and are offered in collaboration with Oakland University, a charter member of the Oak Park Business and Education Alliance. The scholarship may be renewed annually if the student maintains prescribed academic standards.
