Building Effective Partnerships

The School Liaison program pairs volunteers from the business community with classroom teachers to help prepare Oak Park students for post-secondary education and 21st century careers. Students learn about career awareness, entrepreneurship, and goal-setting as well as focusing on leadership and soft-skills development.

Share Your Experience
Share your valuable “real life” work experience with tomorrow’s workforce as a business volunteer. Volunteers are asked to commit to:

  1. Junior Achievement training.  (One time, 1½ hours)
  2. Attending an Orientation meeting.  (Approximately 1-1½ hours)
  3. Five to six consecutive weeks of in-class participation presenting the Junior Achievement Curriculum.
  4. Visiting your adopted classroom one hour per month after completing the Junior Achievement Curriculum.
  5. Providing ongoing evaluation feedback to the OPBEA.
