William Beaumont Hospital

William Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak offers a Job-Shadowing Program for students enrolled in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) at OPHS. The program consists of a four-week training course that teaches students CPR, safety, infectious control and general job skills. Students are then placed in a variety of departments throughout the hospital depending on their interests.  In partnership with St. John Health Providence Hospital, health care professionals participate in Career Pathway informal lectures as a part of the students’ classroom experience.

KIDSBUILD

Building Trades classes are offered that teach basic skills required to secure an entry level position in the construction industry to students at Oak Park High School. Funds have been provided for students enrolled in the Building Trades classes to attend all events sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan. It is the goal of OPBEA to provide hands-on and observation experiences to students at actual building sites.
