The Oak Park School District is located on the northern boundary of the City of Detroit and encompasses the City of Oak Park along with portions of Royal Oak Township and Southfield. The demographic composition of the District changed dramatically over the years as the migration of African Americans from the inner city and an influx of Middle Eastern and Asian immigrants create a truly diverse community.
